Utah Governor Gary Herbert Issues AV Week Proclamation

(August 4, 2010) Bluffdale, Utah, USA — Underscoring the contribution of the audio-visual industry on everyday lives, Utah Governor Gary Herbert, today joined with Utah-based Listen Technologies Corporation and other industry groups including InfoComm, to officially declare of October 17 – 23, 2010 as AV Week.

A host of companies and organizations from around the world will celebrate AV Week with special events at schools, job fairs and community outreach activities. To learn more about the AV industry, please visit www.infocomm.org.

Commenting on the declaration, Cory Schaeffer, VP of Sales & Marketing noted, “AV Week is a great way to build awareness in our community about the industry and to generate interest in careers in AV. We‘re pleased to partner with the state of Utah and 37 Utah InfoComm members to showcase the value of this exciting industry and it’s solutions. Utah boasts a wealth of AV professionals in manufacturing, design, consulting, and system integration. We‘re proud to be a Utah company and to have our solutions deployed around the world.”

Listen is organizing a series of special events to take place over the course of AV Week including a fundraising event for the Walk4Hearing, a tour of a theater that offers assistive listening and audio description to its patrons, and an educational presentation at a local area school. Ms. Schaeffer is hoping to collaborate with other industry colleagues to broaden the activities of AV Week in Utah. “This is an important opportunity for us to come together and promote the AV industry,” she said. “I encourage my industry associates to join me in creating events for the community.”
