From November 20th to November 24th, Belgian Week UAE featured a wide range of exciting events, talks and guests, all relating to space technology. Barco was there as a main sponsor, ensuring that Belgian audiovisual technology was well-represented at the Dubai event, hosted by the Belgian Embassy at the Rixos Hotel The Palm. None other than renowned Belgian astronaut Frank De Winne was guest of honor, as well as local Barco partner Intertech Vision Middle East, which was recognized for the great business collaborations that they have shared with Barco.
Highlighting technology, celebrating collaboration Space tech was in the spotlight during this first edition of Belgian Week UAE, which was punctuated by the presence of astronaut Frank De Winne of the European Space Agency ESA and representatives of the UAE’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre. The event also highlighted Belgium’s famous “art-de-vivre” in the form of great food and delicacies.
Barco was present to illustrate Belgium’s know-how in space technology, linking each innovation to a particular aspect of the UAE. “Barco sure succeeded with flying colors, demonstrating Belgium’s best technologies,” enthuses Dominique Mineur, Ambassador of Belgium to the UAE. In addition, Barco collaborator and local control room designer and integrator Intertech Vision received a special award: Best UAE Industrial & Government Partner. The Bestowing award was presented to Khaled Noeman, CEO of Intertech Vision ME, by the Belgian Embassy at a ceremony, which was then followed by a dinner at the Rixos Hotel.
