Walt Megura Takes Leadership Role, Steering AMX to the Next Level

RICHARDSON, Texas – August 17, 2009 – AMX® the leader in providing simplified solutions in the audio/visual control industry, announced today that Walt Megura has been named Vice President, US Sales and Global Marketing. In this newly created role, Walt will build upon his current role as Vice President, Global Market Development to include all AMX US Sales and Global Marketing Programs.

"Walt has been a trusted partner to me for over 15 years and as AMX continues to evolve and grow, he is the perfect choice to take our sales effort to the next level. AMX leads the industry by providing premium audio/visual, digital media, and building automation solutions with an emphasis on solution integration. This new role will improve our ability to effectively present this message to the marketplace and deliver the full benefit and breadth of the AMX product portfolio to our customers," says Rashid Skaf, AMX president and CEO. "Walt's immediate task will be to lead the continued evolution of AMX as a leading provider of integrated solutions for total environment management."

Walt will now be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the company's commercial and residential sales operations throughout the United States and all marketing programs worldwide. In addition, Walt will continue to drive the strategic initiative to formally establish AMX as the standard technology platform of choice for key vertical markets. In this organizational change, domestic sales, sales engineering, global marketing, technical support, professional services, training, and sales operations all fold under one unit. This combination of our various customer centric organizations formalized into one group position us to better present our overall portfolio of solutions to the market place.

"As the various systems within a building become increasingly integrated, AMX will continue to focus on how to simplify the way people interact with technology" explains Megura. "Today's marketplace requires reliable, scalable technologies that centralize the management, monitoring and control of those technology assets across the network. I will be collaborating with our dealers, consultants and sales force to ensure the focus and execution needed to prepare for and benefit from this continued industry trend."

Prior to joining AMX, Walt was Senior Vice President for the Americas with Intervoice, which was acquired by Convergys. In addition, Walt has held a number of senior level leadership positions ranging from Vice President and General Manager for Global Broadband and IPTV to other sales leadership roles at Nortel and EMC. Walt holds a BS degree in business administration from Northeastern University, Boston and is an alumnus of the Stanford Executive Management Program.
